President's Letter

Greetings Fellow Skalleagues!

We kicked off the fall season at Mojo’s in Ft. Lauderdale. It was a small intimate crowd that attended but we had a fun time and the food was outstanding at this great location. Dick and Carlos were getting ready to head off to Finland for the World Congress that Friday following the meeting so when we see you in October they will fill us in on all that is going on with SIUSA and how any changes will impact our Club. If you haven’t had a moment to check out the photos taken by Gabe Nunez, our substitute photographer, please do so.

I hope you are geared up for the “season” as we will be focusing on increasing our membership. Carlos sent out a notice from Dick reminding everyone that your Board of Directors will be presenting the Club’s slate of Officers and Directors for 2012 year to the membership at the November meeting with the election to be held as usual at our January meeting. In keeping with the procedures followed by SIUSA, I would ask that any member who wishes to be listed on the ballot for a position on the board to send their request for their name to be included for one of the following positions to Paul Cook at Travelizme@aol.com with a copy to Dick Stafford at rwstaff@bellsouth.net. The positions that are elected each year are:

• President
• Vice President
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• Board Members - 4 Positions

The position of SIUSA Representative held currently by Dick Stafford is a 2 year term and is also up for election this year. Please think about getting involved as we'd love to have any one of you participate.

I know that we are still in economically challenging times, but I encourage you if you can, to please join us at our upcoming meetings. It's a great opportunity to network with your fellow peers as well as being able to do business with friends.
