President's Letter
November, 2011

Greetings Fellow Skalleagues!

It was a small but intimate gathering at our dinner meeting at China Grill this month. If you missed it, you missed an amazing dinner and great camaraderie at this beautiful location overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway in Ft. Lauderdale. We saw a few members we haven’t seen in awhile, Nicola Iannone from MSC Cruises as well as Wayne Lampert, former president of our Club who has had the fortune to travel for pleasure this past year. It was nice to have our regular supporters as well, Al Walleser and his lovely wife Anne and their guests Ed and Jeanne Warren from Alpine Adventures as well as Gabe Nunez from Grupo Transhotel who graciously filled in once again as our back up photographer in place of Paul Cook. If you have a moment, please click on the link below to see the photos from the evening. Besides photos of our guests, you will see a shot of the mouthwatering desert that we had that evening! www.skal-ftlauderdale-palmbeaches.org

Mark your calendar for our upcoming annual Holiday Party on Thursday, December 15th at the Boca Renaissance Hotel and look for your Holiday Party invitation in your e-mail this week. Please RSVP with your entrée choice as soon as possible. This party is sure to please with live music from Ronnie Incitti and will include our Silent Auction with some amazing items already in place. We will also be doing a raffle for additional great giveaways that you won’t want to miss. We are still looking for some final auction/raffle items such as local restaurant gift cards, spa packages or gift baskets. I was fortunate to win a one night stay in a deluxe guestroom at the Hyatt Place West Palm Beach/Downtown last year that included breakfast which was donated by our own board member, James Hansen Director of Sales for this property. As you know, this is our Club’s largest fund raiser for the year so we are looking forward to a great turnout. The Boca Renaissance was host for this past year’s induction of officers in April. It was a beautiful location and the food was outstanding. We are looking forward to another successful and festive evening with holiday cheer and good friends!

About this time of year I find myself amazed that yet another year has seemed to fly by and the holidays are upon us. Let’s enjoy the season and be thankful for our family and friends and pledge to be present in each moment.

Skål and Happy Holidays!

Skål!

Beth
