Fellow Skålleagues!

We returned to the Chesterfield Hotel on Palm Beach for our May dinner meeting. The evening started with the reception held pool side where we had drinks and Hors d'oeuvres before we moved into the banquet room to enjoy another great dinner with outstanding service by the hotel staff. During the dinner Carlos gave everyone an update on the May NASC Congress which was held in Playa Mujeres, Mexico.

We also discussed our upcoming 7th Annual Hospitality Networking Social which will be held on June 12th at the Xtreme Action Park in Ft Lauderdale. The Social will be a fun event and will include a blind wine pull and live charity auction. We need members to contribute bottles of wine for the wine pull. Please let Dick Stafford know what you will be able to contribute so we can collect the wine by the first week of June. You will receive an email requesting donations.

Thanks to Ian Black, several other Associations in the Palm Beach and Ft Lauderdale area that are part of the Hospitality Alliance of South Florida will be supporting the event and will send the invitation flyer to their members. We also have received a long list of email addresses of hospitality industry members in the Ft Lauderdale area from Heiko Dobrikow the GM of the Riverside that Carlos will use to also send the invitation flyer to. We are looking forward to a great turnout at the June event.

The SI World Congress next year is a 7 day September cruise out of Miami. Our club should work to put together pre and post cruise specials in the area to promote our Skål Club and our area to world Skal members to visit when here for the cruise. Date for submission of packages to be determined.

Skal Club's in Canada have several auction items available that we can trade items for to use at our December Auction. Carlos will obtain the list of items available and price so we can put together competitive items to offer for trade.
