Fellow Skålleagues!

I hope that you enjoyed a wonderful summer season and are looking forward to a wonderful Fall and Winter Season here in sunny Florida! Last week's meeting was at the very chic Stache Dining Den. The venue and entertainment were remarkable, and everyone had a great time. A special thanks to Laura Ortino from Damn Good Hospitality Group and their team for a wonderful evening!

As Skål members, we have a natural desire to experience the best of the world through travel and the hospitality business. Here in South Florida, we get to enjoy summer vacation all year! (my personal favorite part). At times, we find ourselves drawn to help protect and save our neighbors from disasters of all kinds, such as weather, impoverished communities, etc. In our recent board meeting, we discussed our club's opportunity to give back to communities around the world who need our help. We will be designing and executing an event for 2019 with the "Give Back" spirit in mind. Surely, the power of our friendly organization will be impactful to those in need, as well as give us the chance to get together to make a difference, and bond more closely as Skål members.

Future Fun Venues:

With the Holiday Party rapidly approaching, we wanted to remind you that will soon begin collecting items for our charity auction that is held each year at the December Holiday Party. You will receive the first notice in the next few weeks to assist the club in obtaining donations for the auction.

SI and Skål USA:

The board discussed which SI & Skal USA board members to invite to the December Holiday Party and the January Installation of Officers Dinner. A decision will be made at the end of November when we know who will be on the Skål USA board after the election.

The board discussed the upcoming Skal USA election for officers and board members. Lisa will vote by November 30th for club choices that will be discussed at our November board meeting after the list of people running has been announced.
