Palm Beach County currently has 32.713 open jobs, with 26,573 unemployed residents and an unemployment rate holding steady at 3.4%. The job market remains active and competitive.

What to Know:

  • Demand for talent is strong, and businesses that lead with clear roles, competitive pay, and strong culture are continuing to grow.
  • If hiring is a challenge, now is the time to explore partnerships with local workforce programs and training providers. The Chamber can help make those connections.

2. Consumer Spending is Healthy and Holding

Annual sales tax revenue has risen to $319.82 million, signaling consistent local spending and economic activity. That’s good news for businesses in retail, hospitality, and service industries.

What to Know:

  • Strong local demand creates room to improve marketing, upgrade customer experience, and test new offerings.

Final Thought

Palm Beach County continues to show signs of resilience and opportunity. The Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches is here to help you navigate the trends, connect with the right resources, and position your business for what’s next.

Reminder: Minimum Wage Will Increase September 30

Florida’s minimum wage is scheduled to increase from $13.00 to $14.00 per hour on September 30, 2025, as part of a constitutional amendment passed in 2020. The tipped minimum wage will also rise from $9.98 to $10.98.

This marks the second-to-last increase in the state’s phased plan to reach $15.00 per hour by 2026, making Florida the only state in the country with a minimum wage mandate embedded in its constitution.

What Employers Should Know:

• All Florida businesses will be required to comply with the new rates and update workplace postings accordingly.
• These changes may affect pricing, staffing, benefits, and operational strategy—especially in service-heavy and labor-dependent industries.
• Tipped wage employers should also ensure compliance with recordkeeping and tip credit requirements.

The Chamber will continue to keep members informed of changes that affect the cost of doing business in Palm Beach County and across Florida.
